Hello!
I have been a healthcare practitioner since 1999, graduating from Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy, and becoming licensed (now registered due to recent massage regulation changes) as a Massage Therapist in Colorado Springs July, 1999. I am also licensed as a Paramedical Aesthetician in the state of Colorado since April, 2006.
My journey:
On October 29, 1999 I was broadsided at 60 mph in a car accident, resulting in a mild traumatic brain injury (closed head injury), with secondary diagnoses of midline brain shift, decreased visual functioning in my left eye, fibromyalgia, TMJD syndrome, chronic pain and chronic fatigue syndromes, irritable bowel syndrome, and chronic insomnia.
Shortly after the accident I began a quest to "put myself back together" following the path of western medicine because that's what I knew in the way of healthcare, and that's what my insurance company was willing to pay for. My healthcare team consisted of an M.D. specializing in Internal Medicine and Acupuncture, Neuromuscular Massage Therapists, Physiotherapists, a Speech / Language Pathologist, a Psychologist, an Orthodontist who specialized in TMJD, an Optometrist who specialized in visual changes as a result of head injury (midline brain shift), and various other practitioners that I saw once or twice. After 18 months of several medical appointments per week (sometimes several a day) I experienced some improvement in my pain levels and had increased range of motion, but made no progress in cognitive functioning, had great difficulty managing in my day-to-day life, and my violent mood swings were unbearable. Not to discredit the medical profession, but I believe that as a result of trying to treat symptoms as something that was 'wrong with me' they missed the point of bringing me back to wholeness. I wholeheartedly believe that western medicine works very well in instances for which it was designed: emergency medical care. But by its nature & design it does not function as a preventive type of healthcare based on wholeness of the person.
Extremely frustrated with being in constant pain and having unmanageable mood swings due to the head injury, my quality of life sucked, to be honest. When I was not willing to live my life like this any longer I began searching for therapies that might help me, outside of what western medicine could offer me. I began paying out of my own pocket for alternative treatments, and was synchronistically led from one practitioner to another, all of whom had a hand in helping me heal. Finally, I'd reached the end of any help those therapists could provide and was given a final solution that ended up saving my life and helping me heal with Energy Medicine in 2001.
It was because of that journey of self-healing that I decided to embark on a quest to learn as much as I could about the nature of Consciousness, Healing, & Energy Medicine, setting my course on helping others who'd been "through the gamut" and were searching for something else that would help them put themselves back together following whatever trauma was unique to them so that they could live lives full of joy, purpose, health, and meaning.
In addition to numerous stand-alone courses from 2001-2002, I completed a 3-year Clairvoyance Training program from 2002-2005 with Eileen Murphy of Bridging Connections (bridgingconnections.com).I have taken advanced courses and teleclasses with Jim Self of Avalon Institute & Mastering Alchemy (masteringalchemy.com), and advanced courses with Michael Tamura (michaeltamura.com). Additionally, I am certified in Spiritual / Interdimensional Communication through Steve & Barbara Rother of Beacons of Light (lightworker.com).
My focus / specialty is Energy Medicine, which is a customized approach to energy work utilizing highly developed intuitive skills & channeled healing energy.
It is my sincere desire to empower you in your own unique quest for health & well-being by offering my knowledge, compassion, and various tools I've picked up along the way.
Namaste,
Jennifer
